Woke up with a headache this morning. Must be the lack of alcohol in my system. Vacation recovery must be taking longer than I had thought it would.
Actually, I don’t think I slept all that well the last two nights. I would attribute it to stress, except that I don’t feel freaked out. I feel invigorated actually. I’m excited for the challenge of the search. The headache must be because I’m thinking too hard…
Speaking of thinking…during the morning commute to the dead-end and lame-duck job (we could retain it they say…harumph) I thought about using this opportunity to get my mid-life crisis over with ahead of time. I’ve always been proactive. So, it makes sense to be proactive about the MLC. I could change careers. I could quit working entirely. I could go and backpack the Himalayans.
Here’s what I came up with for career changes…
Bicycle Messenger (I could finally get that tattoo I have always wanted)
Married with kids Porn Star (definitely don’t see any of those in the movies)
Fork Lift Operator (secretly wanted this kind of job my entire life)
Truck Driver (then I could finally have time to grow the beard)
Novelist (It would be about the disillusionism of the Gen X’ers)
Bartender/Waiter (Would get great stories for the blog)
Thoughts???
