Remember, you heard it here first

An NBA official working games for 13 years is found to have a gambling problem and will plead guilty to charges he bet on games he officiated.

The “fix” can take many forms, by the way…

The NBA will obviously ‘circle the wagons’ and claim vociferously that this is/was an isolated incident.  And, they’ll claim this ref didn’t affect the outcome of any of the games on which he placed bets and officiated.

Yea right…

To the first claim, I say “how do they know it was isolated…seeing as how they didn’t know about the first guilty ref?”.  To the second claim, I say “why would he bet on nba games knowing he wasn’t allowed unless he thought he’d win money AND get away with it?   And, thus, wouldn’t he automatically then know he’d have to affect the games in order to ensure he’d win the bets and make the money?”

Hmmm…

UPDATE: The guilty referee will name names.
